The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), formed in 1949, is a charitable organization and is the leading voluntary health organization devoted to fighting blood cancer in the world. LLS is headquartered in Rye Brook, New York, having 56 chapters all across the United States and five chapters in Canada and also comprises six signature fundraising campaigns. It has invested more than $1.2 billion in blood cancer research, since its establishment, funding nearly all of today’s most promising treatments. The society operates tirelessly to find remedies and safeguard patients to obtain the lifesaving treatments they need and when someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis, it provides hope, compassion, education and support. They are the leading source of free information and support for blood cancer patients which incorporates help finding appropriate clinical trials whereas they advocate at the state and federal level for policies to ensure patients have access to affordable care and the most innovative therapies.
