The Standard operates as a subsidiary of the StanCorp Financial Group, and was established in 1906, as the Oregon Life Insurance Company, later rebranding themselves as the Standard Insurance Company in 1946. The company is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, USA, popularly known as the Standard Center, with an annex corporate office in Standard Plaza. The company is widely renowned in the surrounding communities for its philanthropic efforts and its excellent work environment, devoted to helping its workforce of 3000 plus employees, achieve a professional career, and provide the same to individuals looking to join it.
