Founded in 1866, Towson University (TU) is a well-known regional public university in the country. It offers over 100 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in the arts, sciences, and professional fields. With more than 23,000 students, Towson University is not only among the largest universities in the prestigious University System of Maryland, but also the largest public university systems in the United States. TU connects students to industry experts in learning environments and offers a variety of challenging and relevant programs. The university has a vast range of extracurricular activities for students. Strong partnerships of Towson University with public and private organizations in the region provide opportunities for research, internships, and jobs. TU is also a founding member of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities and offers employment opportunities to the students and community at all levels.
