About Trade Marketing Manager

What does a Trade Marketing Manager do?

As trade marketing managers, we are responsible for brand development and selling to wholesalers, retailers, or distributors (as opposed to directly to customers). We are also known as B2B marketing managers. We translate our organization’s business objectives into brand and channel-specific marketing strategies, and ensure they are executed on. These strategies involve assortment, merchandising, pricing, shelving, and more. We conduct regular site visits to maintain relationships and to track campaign performance.

Core tasks:

  • analyzing market data to develop channel insights
  • developing channel-specific marketing and trade promotion plans and strategies
  • conducting regular market visits to maintain relationships and keep abreast of trends
  • tracking and optimizing program performances, establishing KPIs
  • developing sales tool kits
