About Trainmaster

What does a Trainmaster do?

As Trainmasters, we are tasked with regularly managing and supervising the train crews’ and yardmasters’ daily activities while effectively coordinating with crew callers, transportation clerks, and mechanics to ensure that the department runs smoothly. We also manage the terminal’s operation as determined by the CN’s operating plan while ensuring compliance with every relevant safety law and regulation to avoid accidents during work. We lead multiple people and monitor their goals and performance to ensure that they comply with the company’s established deadlines and quality.
