About Underwriting Manager

What does an Underwriting Manager do?

As underwriting managers, we manage the daily underwriting processes. We make credit decisions and deliver suggestions regarding complex cases. We review procedures and plans for risk management. Our duties include reviewing clients’ applications and renewals. Some of us also supervise and educate junior staff and provide feedback about their performance. We ensure that departmental goals are met. We are responsible for adhering to the set budgets. It is our responsibility to assign underwriting tasks for insurance and loan plans. Lastly, we conduct research on clients’ applications.
