The United States National Guard is a reserve military component of the United States Armed Forces under the dual control of the state and the federal government. It is composed of members or units from all 50 U.S. states, all territories of the U.S., the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Members of the National Guard are members of the militia. They hold a civilian job and serve part-time in the Guard. National Guard career options span a broad spectrum of fields, from aviation to ground forces, transport or technology. When you join the Guard, you will serve your country and family. Your rank and education level will determine your pay level and you will be eligible for tuition reimbursement, retirement plan, home loans, massive bonuses and a collection of insurances.
