The EAP counselor also participates in crisis on-call coverage rotation. The EAP Counselor assists the substance abuse counselor in providing substance abuse screens/referral on hospitalized patients when needed. Responsibilities Complete thorough assessment of client''s presenting needs and develop a plan of action. Provide brief counseling and crisis call response according to EAP departmental guidelines. Provide appropriate referral beyond EAP, as needed, that is based upon client''s needs and available community resources. Participate in 24/7 on-call crisis coverage rotation when office is closed. Ensure that client documentation is complete, thorough and timely, according to EAP departmental guidelines.
