I began teaching online for UCF around 2013 or early 2014. The courses were online and I was given a shell to build my class. I worked on and off for them until 2020. I did have a job offer from then to copnitue to teach until they told me that all adjuncts had to live in FL. I was moving to DE. UCF was a wonderful University to work with. My mentors were Joyce Burr and Stephen Heglund. I was blessed to have them and appreciate everything they did for me.

Pros and Cons
Two great mentors - Joyce Burr and Stephen Heglund
Had to live in Florida to teach online.

Working at the University of Central Florida was one of my favorite jobs of all time. There was a lot of autonomy, advancement opportunity, decent work life balance, you were right there on campus where there was always something going on and to do. The work was meaningful and impactful enriching people's lives. Unfortunately, it's extremely bureaucratic, the pay was very underwhelming, benefits were subpar, it was the entry level's entry level. It was a wonderful place to work for fun, but career wise a job that's only worth getting in, getting some experience, then finding a job with reasonable compensation.

Pros and Cons
Autonomy, Meaningful work, Fun culture, good location, Good Work life balance
Pay and benefits were well below what was available in the immediate surrounding area
