Must Haves: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Science or equivalent knowledge and experience. Experience developing UNIX/AIX shell scripts. Strong technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design patterns and implementation. Knowledge and experience with building and supporting applications on various platforms. High-level analytical, design and project planning skills. Strong track record of demonstrating troubleshooting and debugging skills. Proven inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills. An aptitude for problem solving, crisis management and time management. Ability to work in small teams with limited supervision. 1 to 3 years of experience in software systems development. Minimum 1 year of experience developing software within the AIX/UNIX environment. Plusses: Experience building, testing, and debugging Enterprise scheduler jobs. A background in the financial industry (and specifically within the managed accounts business). UNIX/AIX and Linux Admin experience. Experience with JAVA, Perl, and Powershell languages. Day to Day: Builds, modifies, reviews and analyzes software systems through code development, testing, debugging and documentation. Performs moderately complex product design, systems analysis, and programming activities. Provides production support for existing software within the areas covered by the role and takes part in an off-hours rotation. Prepares technical documentation. Conducts unit & integration testing. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions. Scopes and designs efficient solutions to documented business needs. Works with peers to conduct code reviews across team and helps foster a productive work environment. Interfaces with internal or external clients to clarify requirements or discuss alternative solutions.
