What does an Urban Forester do?

As Urban Foresters, we ensure the health and sustainability of urban forests by planning and managing green spaces within cities. Our work includes assessing tree health, planting new trees, and educating the community about urban forestry. We implement urban forest management plans in conjunction with city planners and environmental organizations. We often use geographic information systems (GIS) for tree mapping and data analysis. Moreover, we work to mitigate the effects of pollution and urban development on tree health.
