Leadership is very unprofessional. They treat employees horribly and dont train well at all. They also DO NOT have best interest of Veterans' in mind. It is all about money and power. I took rather hefty pay cut just to get out of there.

If you are a Federal government worker, management treats you better and you have job stability. However, if you are a contractor, you risk losing your job to another company if the term of the contract is up. Management knew that our contract was approaching the end and other companies bid and one won the contract after a 3 year period. Upper management didn't tell our team and we were led to believe that we were working on at least another 3 year contract. We were lied to and mislead and we all lost our jobs to another company. Poor management, except for CVA and OSDBU Federal leads. To be fair, I can only speak about the people that I worked directly with. My supervisor in particular was extremely rude, controlling and just plain nasty to the people on our team. One of the worst places that I have ever worked! The only joy in working there was knowing that your work helped the veterans who served our country and deserved the best.

I cannot work effectively within a quota system. The VA operates within this kind of environment. It's very intense and very, very demanding. You must clear at least 13 to 15 claims per day, 60 to 70 per week. If you fall below these standards you are disciplined and if you do not improve you are asked to resign. it's all about your output. You or your future development is not their concern. It's all number's driven and I was a veteran, the people who I was supervised by never ever served a day in their life. So how they can relate to veterans I will never understand. Did they display any compassion no, it was always about your output numbers and how they appeared in the eyes of the VA Administration back in Washington, DC.

If you obey directions from management without questioning them you'll have no problems. Stand up for what is right or try to follow your work section's procedures when it goes against management wishes, you'll have problems.
