About Veterinary Pathologist

What does a Veterinary Pathologist do?

As Veterinary Pathologists, we are responsible for examining blood, urine, and tissue samples from living and dead animals to determine either the cause of death or their overall health level and carry out post-mortem examinations on animals that recently died. We carry out various tests and analyses to determine their exact cause of death and work with biologists to determine if it is the result of diseases and whether that disease can spread to other animals.

Core tasks:

  • coordinate with the CDC when required
  • oversee and supervise the sample preparation
