What does a Vice President OF Supply Chain do?

As VP of Supply Chain, we direct and coordinate the supply chain operations of an organization. Our role represents the senior leadership team's goals and missions in the supply chain department. Reversely, we define and communicate to senior leadership the department's resource requirements. Our role usually reports directly to the CEO. We are responsible for making sure all supply chain activities are aligned with organizational goals, such as budget and workflow optimization. We develop supply chain strategies and policies, manage departmental budgets, and key vendor relationships. We are also responsible for ensuring that all supply chain activities are compliant to relevant regulations.

  • establishing team direction, schedules, and key objectives
  • driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve key supply chain metrics
  • assisting in the development of business strategy planning.
  • developing and implementing new products/processes
