Join us.POSITION: VP Supply Chain, Boat GroupDEPARTMENT: Supply Chain/ProcurementREPORTS TO: CFO DATE: August 2019Summary:The Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing will lead strategic procurement efforts across the Boat Group for all Direct and Indirect procurement spend. Reporting to CFO, this position has responsibility for all Sourcing performance across a $0.9B global spend encompassing all aspects of business, category, and supply base management. The role will be tasked with leading a procurement transformation program to enhance capabilities and drive step-change improvements to supply base productivity and performance. Scope includes development and execution of effective sourcing strategies, best value supplier selection, NPI supplier selection and readiness, and delivering on procurement and strategic sourcing objectives including supplier quality, delivery, working capital improvements and productivity across the division.The role is the procurement partner to Boat Group Businesses as well as Division Functions (Finance, HR, Marketing, etc.) with responsibility for process definition, deployment, results and improvement, strategy development and implementation oversight of purchasing practices both globally and locally and delivery to an annual operating plan for savings and working capital improvement. This role has significant direct impact on the financial performance of the businesses through the delivery of savings and cash/working capital improvement.Primary Responsibilities:Define Procurement strategy and drive implementationDevelop and drive the Boat Group’s procurement vision and long-term strategy to transform existing structure and processes, enhance organizational capabilities, and elevate performanceDevelop and implement category sourcing strategies to enable global spend leverage and competitive pricing, quality, delivery and risk management with the supply baseDevelop and oversee Boat Group purchasing policy, indirect demand management activities, and purchasing compliance processesContribute to the development of the Boat Group’s business strategy and plan by prioritizing Procurement value levers and defining cost management objectives (cost improvement and cost containment)Stay involved in wide ranging planning cycles from short term to multi-year sourcing activitiesDrive Procurement performance efficiency, capability and capacity optimizationSet targets and deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance (quality and delivery) and continuity of all Direct and Indirect materials and servicesCoordinate delivery of a sound yearly sourcing plan, with coherent actions to deliver the targetsDevelop benchmarks and metrics including a standard scorecard to set baseline standards and review for improvement opportunitiesDraft and submit budget proposals, recommending budget changes as neededLead the Procurement organizationLead and mentor the Boat Group Supply chain leadership team and oversee the Supply Chain CounselEstablish enterprise “category captain” operating model to balance local site autonomy with cross-site leverage of spend, category management, and best sourcing practicesDevelop and drive Supply Chain talent management processes including the development of talent pipelines for the functionProvide oversight to corporate Indirect purchasing team to set priorities, approve sourcing strategies and provide direction to strategic sourcing initiativesActively work in special projects outside of the purchasing area bringing industry knowledge to projects including contracting standards and customer terms, pricing reviews and other projects as established at the senior management level of the CompanyManage key stakeholders and business representativesConsult with senior management to determine purchasing needs and specificationsEngage internal stakeholders in order to understand business objectives and desired outcomesServe as primary liaison between Supply Chain and Product Development & Engineering functions coordinating NPI, new components sourcing, and productivity initiativesDrive alignment between procurement and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) practices, processes and key business deliverablesDrive cross-divisional synergies and best practice sharingEnsure policy compliance across the categoriesLead supply base management and management of core suppliersDevelop and maintain effective supplier relationships to support business needsMonitor performance of vendor, service providers, etc. to ensure quality of serviceUnderstand competitive trends in key geographic markets for alternate materials and services to ensure the Boat Group has the "right" competitive supply solutionsIdentify and develop new/current suppliers globally and in region who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the businessImplement, manage and maintain a supplier qualification process as well as a supplier quality standard programSupport key strategic sourcing initiativesIdentify and realize cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunitiesNegotiate pricing, terms, and conditions of contracts and/or service providersDefine purchasing recommendations that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholdersRequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or business, MBA preferred10 years of leadership experience within supply chain or procurement, to include working across business groups within multi-national organizationsAbility to work in group setting and independently; ability to adjust to changing prioritiesExcellent attention and orientation toward meticulous workStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenFluent in reading, writing and speaking EnglishAbility to project and maintain a professional and positive attitudeEducation and ExperienceAble to lead change; build high performing teams and model high performance standardsExperience in managing a team of sourcing professionals in fragmented spend categories with large overall spend amounts and building capabilities in a decentralized organizational structureExceptional communication skills including listening and facilitation, with the ability to use logic and persuasion, rather than authority, to be effectiveStrategic thinking skills including an ability to make sound business judgments related to strategic supply philosophies and initiativesExecution skills including persistent drive for results utilizing sound project management, organizational and problem-solving skillsStrong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.Technical skills including strong understanding of the procurement operating model (organization, P2P processes); negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization; and knowledge of effective technology driven-sourcing processesApplication of world-class category management, strategic sourcing, and supply base management strategies and techniques with understanding of total cost of ownership, risk management and savings/benefit monitoringAbility to roll up sleeves and dig into the details, including bid analytics, scenario development, and face-to-face negotiationsPrevious leadership experience in a matrix environment.
