What does a Vice President Risk Management do?

As Vice Presidents of Risk Management, we design and execute risk-related strategic objectives. We manage the company’s risks. It is our job to oversee the company’s Risk Management department. We ensure that all procedures, protocols, and loss prevention programs are fully implemented. We are responsible for multi-line insurance coverage, policy and claims management, and litigation management. We set the strategic risk management vision. Delivering the risk management strategy to the company using exceptional leadership skills is our job. We evaluate potential risks and exposures to the company. We design programs around the evaluation of risks. Maintaining effective, interactive communications on risk management-related issues is the demand of our job.

Core tasks:

  • work with the Legal Department about material claims and litigation
  • lead the formulation, interpretation, and application of the company’s policies and procedures
  • prepare and monitor annual departmental budget
  • responsible for providing budgetary guidance for the enterprise-wide cost of risk
