About Victim Advocate

What does a Victim Advocate do?

As Victim Advocates, we represent victim of a crime in the court of law. It is our responsibility to speak on behalf of our client who is a victim to a crime that is being prosecuted in the court. We are responsible for providing guidance and advice to clients for fighting a lawsuit. We make the victims aware of their legal rights and outcomes in case of a lawsuit. We make sure that the victim cooperates during police interviews and investigations with causing minimum harm to their mental and physical health. It is our prime duty to prepare documentation on behalf of our client that is to be used in legal proceedings.

Core tasks:

  • act as a liaison between victim and court
  • provide guidance and support to the victim during entire proceeding of the lawsuit
  • prepare necessary paperwork on behalf of the victim
  • represent the victim in court hearings
