WAREHOUSE MANAGER







Direct warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.







Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Schedule delivery trucks and drivers to destinations based on shipping requirements, cost, and delivery priorities.
  • Ensure drivers' schedules are upheld.
  • Confirm deliveries and maintain appropriate records.
  • Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  • Prepare work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Confer with SSM to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as sales, and purchasing.
  • Participate in planning personnel safety and protection activities.
  • Read customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product or location code.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to UPS station or staging area
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Use computer to enter records.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other company Branches.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing or UPS.
  • Maintain inventory records.





Supervisory Responsibilities



Directly supervise warehouse and delivery staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring of overtime; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with Sales Service Manager.








Qualifications

Education and/or Experience



Associates Degree; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.







Computer Skills



Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheet software. Must have basic working knowledge of Company inventory software, or the ability to learn to use with appropriate training in 60 days.







Certificates, Licenses, Registrations



Preferred CDL Class B license.







Language Skills



Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.







Mathematical Skills



Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.







Reasoning Ability



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to solve practical problems.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
