POLITICO Pro is seeking a web producer who is passionate about journalism and looking to kick start a career in a newsroom. POLITICO Pro is POLITICO’s subscription service that arms policy professionals with indepth policy reporting and a portfolio of tools they need to get the job done. We’re looking for someone who can manage and copy edit content related to the politics of policy, write headlines/teases and convert or enhance stories for the web all while maintaining quality control.

+ A time management guru: You’re able to multi-task without losing focus and prioritize multiple projects while juggling several competing deadlines. You're eager to, but realistic about taking on more projects without sacrificing quality. Some of your biggest strengths are ambition and work ethic
+ Your written and verbal communication skills make you an approachable “go-to” for relaying messages to senior colleagues inside and outside of the newsroom
+ Attentive to detail: You’re comfortable acting as the “final say” before publishing our work and you can edit for clarity, consistency and accuracy
+ You can navigate a professional newsroom with good humor and grace, regardless of changing circumstances. You are willing to work with other parts of the newsroom and company in order to maintain POLITICO's high standards
What You'll Do…
+ Work closely with our reporters and editors to manage and publish POLITICO Pro’s influential content, adhering to Associated Press and in-house copy-editing standards
+ Add art, produce/test links and schedule alerts and calendar events
+ File and tag stories in the content management system (CMS) while troubleshooting any snags and glitches that arise
+ Communicate with reporters and editors onsite and offsite, while maintaining a calm demeanor in sometimes hectic news cycles
What You'll Need…
+ Passion for digital media and journalism
+ A desire to build on your knowledge of politics and policy issues
+ A./B.S. or equivalent (preferably in Journalism, Political Science or English)
+ Experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally an internet publication or newsroom
+ Working knowledge of AP Style. Exposure to content management systems (CMS) and HTML is also a plus
