In my experience, the company has a good culture and a lot of opportunities. I am speaking for IT. More than likely you're going to like your job there, and if you don't there's opportunity to switch, and in my opinion, more than likely it will turn out in your favor. You have to put in the work, but overall the leadership has somehow maintained a culture (like in prior decades) of good values and making the environment a good collaborative place to work.

Pros and Cons
Collaborative

Wells Fargo only recently increased their minimum hourly pay, and it was purely because they were losing employees constantly to competitors for better pay. The amount of work they expect from their employees is far beyond what they are willing to compensate, and keep branches staffed at the absolute bare minimum to keep the company afloat. There is little to no room for growth. When there is an a opportunity, the standards are high, and hiring managers nitpick every little thing.

Pros and Cons
Great benefits
Overworked; little opportunity for growth.

I worked for Wells Fargo for five years and it was the worst experience I’ve had in my entire life, first they will come to your branch and bring a white person like you’re doing something wrong to clean it up and you just have to stand there and watch the racism level is disturbing, how they’ve been litter their employees, how they tell their employees they’re easily replaceable, If you’re 2 to 3 minutes late from your shift and you’re a minority they’ll fire you but if you’re two hours late and you’re white you’ll get a pat on the back #TheMostRacistCompanyI’veEverWorkedFor #WellsFargoSucks

Pros and Cons
The pro was you were allowed to take a lunch
White collies will get promoted right in front of minorities

Wells Fargo has been good to me. I enjoy my time at Wells Fargo. I do believe they need to do a better job with audits, compliance and quit getting fines and negative publicity. The employees pay the price for these fines from the constant layoffs, low annual raises, and loss of bonuses. There is no job security here anymore. I do believe they should be more open to the work from home option. Employees proved they could still be effective working from home. It helps save money for the employer, employee, keeps the traffic down which helps our overcrowded highways, keeps the tardiness down and keeps the sickness/disease low in the office and helps keep employees healthy. I have no complaints about Wells Fargo other than the fines, layoffs and negative reputation. I would continue to work at Wells Fargo.

Pros and Cons
Good benefits, lots of job options to progress, Volunteer opportunities, group/networks to join
People abuse the FMLA/Bereavement Policy, Favoritism by some managers, too many layoffs

I worked for Wells Fargo for almost 5 years. They were very good about recognition and praise for their support staff. I won awards for my productivity and customer service almost monthly. They did have some issues while I was working there that hurt the reputation of their brand and in turn it affected the mortgage side of their business.

To Wells Fargo employees are expendable. The expectations they set were not made to be achieved. Too much stress and pressure are put on the employees to achieve these unattainable expectations, so many people who had been with the company 20, 30 plus years were let go because to the company they did not measure up. But the real reason was the company wanted to hire younger people to do these 20/30 year veterans jobs for less pay.

Pros and Cons
I did meet a lot of good people at Wells Fargo and still keep in touch with quite a few of them.

WACHOVIA WAS A GREAT BANK AND I'D PROBABLY STILL BE THERE IF IT HADN'T BEEN BOUGHT BY WELLS FARGO. WELLS FARGO'S CULTURE ESPECIALLY THE ONES DELIVERED BY REGIONAL MANAGERS MADE IT A LIVING NIGHTMARE. UNREALISTIC GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS. THEY DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS - WOULD INTERRUPT THE STORE MANAGERS TO GET ON MULTIPLE DAILY CALLS TO RECORD ACCTS SOLD. IT DOES NOT NOR DID IT MATTER IF YOU WERE CONDUCTING BUSINESS YOU HAD TO GET ON THAT CALL .. SHEER CRAZINESS . THE STORIES YOU READ ABOUT HOW BAD IT WAS ARE NOT LIES. YOU WILL RARELY MEET ANYONE WHO CAN MAKE A CAREER OUT OF WORKING THIER MOST OF THE EMPLOYEES DON'T LAST AND IT'S A REVOLVING DOOR . SUPER SAD , I RESIGNED WITHOUT HAVING ANOTHER JOB LINED UP BECAUSE WHAT I COULD NOT GO ALONG NOR SHARE IN THEIR PRACTICES. SET UP THE PEOPLE TO FAIL .

No one should ever work for these blood suckers. The moral and ethical standards on how to treat people is far off and wrong . Being forced to Solicit information to people that clearly dont need a certain product or service, and pushing to open new accounts for no reason... screw that. Not to mention the main people that suffer are the poorest, when they are hit with reoccurring overdraft payments ($35 for each item) that money goes Right into the pockets of the CEO. No help at all with professional development and/or continuing education regarding my job position. over all, i do not recommend anyone support this terrible company.

My work time there was very interesting at times. Mostly the Mail room was very busy without many times to just relax. Had to stay busy with incoming and outgoing mailings to stay above the limit without back up. The Processor position was interesting the majority of the times because of my contact with people. Otherwise the work would keep you on your toes. That was the way a bust work place is without many errors.

If you're a friend of management, it's OK to work there. Also, their definition of "diversity" is Indian only. Management picks their friends to promote and hire, and there is no respect (for any "diverse" group) given to hard work - most people spend their time online reading on their phones and doing nothing else.

Pros and Cons
Bringing your own lunch, because you won't find a microwave someone isn't using for 20 minutes
No recognition for your efforts and exorbitant benefits' costs if you're FT

I worked for Wells Fargo for just over 10 years. I had good coworkers and we helped each other out with great teamwork. I was displaced and my job was sent overseas.

Pros and Cons

They don't like to promote you unless you suck up. They are lairs and don't care about their people. When we have bad weather they still stay open and make you work. They only care about the being the only bank open. They let me go due to loss exposure. They had been trying to get rid of me. After I was let go one of the tellers that quite want to come back. She texted me and told me that she was going to take my position. I would never tell anyone to work there.

I loved my job. I had no intention of leaving but they went through an internal merger where advisory merged with banking and my position was eliminated. I had only been there 8 months so I’m sure this was in the works when I was hired. But I was disposable. I served my purpose for 8 months and then I was thrown out.

Pros and Cons
A few. Really liked my co-workers
Management. They only care about their bottom line. The people who help them achieve it be damned.

I worked as a temp with the constant prospective it would roll over to a full time position. They basically rolled through temp agents cycling through new sets without ever taking anyone on full time. It was clearly a tactic they had throughout the company. The set up was unprofessional as we didn’t even have a direct manager or any training for months. I personally created documentation and processes to use for training and then was let go right after that.. after being there for a year as a temp. It was just an awful experience. Stressful work, no support, and overall would not recommend.

Pros and Cons
Can’t think of one.
Basically everything

This is not a place for black employees. When you have a CEO that feels and says in essence there aren't enough smart black people to hire that dangerous attitude trickles down the ranks.

Pros and Cons
There are no benefits of working for this company.
Terrible reputation of it's treatment of customers and employees

I worked at Wells Fargo for 10 years. Some of it was ok. Most of it was horrible. Micromanaging, Managers not taking responsibility for their mistakes and blaming the teams. Critical of anything you do. They set you up to fail. I could go on but I think you get the point.

Pros and Cons
None that I can think of

After ten years as a second mortgage associate, I retired. I receive a retirement income from Wells Fargo that ten years ago was enough to pay my monthly utility bill. The amount of the retirement income is still the same and now it pays less than half the utility cost. I decided it would help me financially to work as a part time teller. Wells Fargo requires exactly the same run around for the job as if I had never worked for them. Tellers are the lowest of the low employees in any bank. Someone with ten years experience should not have to jump through their new hire hoops.

Pros and Cons
Pride of working for a historic company.
My second mortgage division was arbitrarily closed and moved to Des Moines, IA.

I love my job and my team! As a processor and no customer contact different shifts that worked each employees schedule should be important. As long a meeting the client expectations are met!

Pros and Cons
Work Life balance is important to me and at Wells you don't have to worry about that.
Only offered two shifts as processors working what fits your schedule should be looked at
