The Wheelhouse Production Shift Lead is the primary and guiding production employee within the various wheelhouse production shifts and is responsible for all functions of bicycle wheel production at Quality Bicycle Products. This includes up 350 unique products within the Quality Wheels brand, contract wheel builds for third party partners, and custom wheels requested from retailers. The Wheelhouse Production Lead uses their extensive training, and knowledge of wheel building best practices to meet multiple quality control specifications in a fun, high-performance, high-quality wheel building production facility.

The Production Lead guides daily shift activities for the production associates at QBP to ensure daily outcomes and goals are being met. This role reports to the Wheelhouse Production Supervisor.

What you will be accountable for:

· Using problem-solving skills and understanding of wheel building theory, adjust wheel building approach to meet differing quality control standards across the wheel build portfolio.

· Accommodate for variations in raw material (spokes, rims, hubs, nipples) quality by modifying technique on a per wheel basis to achieve highest quality results.

· Pick, fill, and prepare raw components for wheel assembly in QBPs production facility

· Complete physical product checks of raw materials comparing physical counts and bin checks to warehouse and ERP data.

· Utilize state of the art wheel building machinery to lace and true production wheels.

· Use manual wheel building techniques to hand lace and hand true premium wheel products meeting best in-class industry specification targets.

· Ensure finished wheels meet multiple quality control standards including but not limited to tension of spoke, tension balance, wheel dish, lateral and vertical true.

· Install product finishes that increase product value and consumer satisfaction including rim and tubeless tape and valves.

· Pack and prep finished goods for warehousing and sale

· Participate with the Wheelhouse leadership team to pursue new best practices for wheel production through continued optimization while maintaining best in class quality.

· Inventory processing and inventory management through use of warehouse management software and Enterprise Resource Planning software.

· Become the expert and resource in one specific focus area for the wheelhouse department including but not limited to: inventory control, programming of Holland wheel building machinery, custom wheel building, and customer service and technical support.

· Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

In addition to all PAIII responsibilities, Production Associate Lead is responsible for the following:

· Create and direct daily work assignments for wheelhouse production associates within the daily production shifts. Implement proper timing and balance of staff assignments within production shift to ensure effective production workflow and efficiency in wheel production to hit daily work targets as set by the production scheduler.

· Regularly participate and train production associates in wheelhouse techniques, giving ongoing feedback that improves performance and production output.

Tasks

Supervise production employees in the manufacturing of biofuels, such as biodiesel or ethanol.

Manage operations at biofuels power generation facilities, including production, shipping, maintenance, or quality assurance activities.

Provide direction to employees to ensure compliance with biofuels plant safety, environmental, or operational standards and regulations.

Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting biofuels plant safety, operational efficiency, and product quality.

Review logs, datasheets, or reports to ensure adequate production levels or to identify abnormalities with biofuels production equipment or processes.

Monitor meters, flow gauges, or other real-time data to ensure proper operation of biofuels production equipment, implementing corrective measures as needed.

Adjust temperature, pressure, vacuum, level, flow rate, or transfer of biofuels to maintain processes at required levels.

Provide training to subordinate or new employees to improve biofuels plant safety or increase the production of biofuels.

Shut down and restart biofuels plant or equipment in emergency situations or for equipment maintenance, repairs, or replacements.

Monitor transportation and storage of flammable or other potentially dangerous feedstocks or products to ensure adherence to safety guidelines.

Draw samples of biofuels products or secondary by-products for quality control testing.

Approve proposals for the acquisition, replacement, or repair of biofuels processing equipment or the implementation of new production processes.

Prepare and manage biofuels plant or unit budgets.

Conduct cost, material, and efficiency studies for biofuels production plants or operations.
