Absolutely Short staffed and ill prepared for the day. Long lines, one or two registers open. Staff call out daily. I can now see why; while working a few days at Whole Foods, it is not conducive to what a cashiers' position truly entails. On your first 90 days, you're expected to basically train yourself on the computer and figure out your role. I was told to clean, sweep floors, do Amazon returns, bag groceries, help clean debris off floor, attend to the carts and basically do a Janitorial position. Not be trained for what you applied for (Cashier). Not worth the 16.00 an hour or the demands requested of you But, if your looking for janitorial, this is the place to be!! Great people, but not my cup of tea.

Pros and Cons
Great expensive food

Worked at Mount Pleasant, West Ashley and Greenville SC stores. Great atmosphere, loved the co-workers I shared shifts with. All busy stores-time went quickly. Mostly felt appreciated by Supervisors. Well managed and attentive to training, organization, cleanliness. Good values-but needs to recycle much more- reduce plastic packaging too!

Pros and Cons
20% off discount on items in Store-Team Appreciation Week with free meals, fun activities offered.

When I was initially hired it was for the Juice Bar. Since it was all inclusive with the Bakery team meant we got to move around. I learned coffee, cashiering, closing the bakery, opening the bakery, production then the Bake-Off. It was never boring and always something to do.

There was alot that happened at my store. Like dealing with sexual harrassment from a male manager who after 5 yrs finally got fired due to someone else reporting him and then numerous others following suit and telling their stories. It was just alot of politics that I didn’t care for at all. We just wanted to do our job and get the support we needed and wanted

Pros and Cons
Overall I had some good coworkers. They did feed us for a little while when Covid first sTarted
The politics, how rules didn’t apply to the managers, playing favorites

When Whole Foods changed the starting hourly wage to 15 an hour they did not make any adjustments for people who had already worked there for years. I worked at Whole Foods for 4 years and with the new starting wage my pay was only 15.25 per hour. I had to train new people, but was I getting paid only slightly more than them. This was part of Amazon owning Whole Foods. With Amazon we went from always having stocked aisles to constantly running out of products. The empty shelves were not a good look. They cut the regular staff in half and hired twice as many manager. With this decision to be understaffed everyone had to work a lot harder. When I started at the company everyone received profit sharing, by the time Amazon took over we lost that benefit.

Pros and Cons
Discount on lunch
Disrespect from management, A lot of food is wasted.
