The Global Commodity Forecasting Manager will be responsible for reinforcing the overall strategy for the risk management program to assess and mitigate the financial risks arising from direct and indirect commodities. They will use external market data to provide insight and help to reset the strategy. They will redefine and evolve the data and analytical platform crucial for generating insights, acting on urgent events, and communicating findings clearly/simply to a broad audience in the business. They will build standard methodologies for identifying and mitigating risks, hedge execution, post trade reporting and compliance with all internal and external policies and regulations.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and is able to communicate technical / specialist knowledge and best practices to a broad audience of partners in an informative and succinct manner. They must have successfully integrated commodity risk practices inside a dynamic organization and is comfortable pivoting between strategic and tactical decisions to ensure execution. They must build successful relationships internally to develop broad specifications for changing conditions, and externally to gain knowledge and expertise quickly to incorporate to Colgate strategies/approaches. They have prior experience in aligning and supporting key collaborators and business partners to advance a strategic commodity sourcing and risk management program within a corporate environment.
Responsibilities
Understand, implement and adjust as needed the Commodity Risk Management (CRM) Strategy to manage the exposures arising from $3B USD annual spend on commodity raw and packaging materials.
Build consensus and alignment with key partners in treasury, finance, procurement, tax and legal to grow risk management program..
Develop standard methodologies for the execution of Over the Counter (OTC) and exchange traded derivatives.
Develop best practices to report, capture and mitigate price risk both financially and within physical contracts where financial instruments don’t exist.
Provide leadership on direct and indirect materials pricing and contracts.
Build relationships with key suppliers and financial counterparties for the execution of strategy.
Develop and share your specialist knowledge and assist in the professional development of the team in this area.
Analyze and develop deep understanding of the supply markets, including external economic factors which influence those markets.
Provide weekly risk strategy updates and market view to the Commodities Risk Committee.
Provide regular updates to key senior leadership team members upon request.
Represent Colgate at relevant industry meetings and events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field.
At least 8 years of experience in commodity trading, analytics, sourcing roles.
Fluency in creating insightful, risk-topic relevant reports and action items that have been grounded in significant amounts of data from internal and external sources
Experience in designing and implementing digital procurement and commodity management transformations.
Salary Range $107,760 - $158,445
Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
