FUNCTION: Performs a variety of duties involving the training of internal and external customers. This position is responsible for delivering instructor-led classroom (physical and virtual) training on the technical features and functional aspects of all products utilized by Bangor Payroll to enable the effective use of systems, tools, and processes. The Training Specialist will work closely with department leadership to collaboratively develop training content, enhancements, and updates to existing training curriculum. The training coordinator may participate in the instructional development process by testing/editing training materials and by providing feedback regarding class flow, hands-on exercises and knowledge checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivers functional and/or technical training to Bangor Payroll employees, including but not limited to core payroll functions, enhancement instruction, process training, and job specific training.
Acquires, maintains and continually increases knowledge of payroll, HCM, and banking technologies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Develops and updates relevant job aides/tools
Applies facilitation skills to manage group and individual dynamics to maintain an appropriate learning environment and ensure that the objectives of the training are met.
Meets with department leadership on a regular basis to determine training needs
Provides frequent feedback regarding training successes and challenges to department leadership
Assists in analyzing job functions and makes suggestions for streamlining functions, improving efficiency, enhancing the accuracy and quality of work.
Assist associates with product and functionality questions as needed
Proactively remains informed of best payroll practices, rules, and regulations by reading appropriate professional literature, sharing with others as appropriate
Acts as a floating resource within the department when training is not an immediate priority, assisting teams with course of business work to ensure a manageable workflow as needed
Operates as a backup to critical departmental functions as needs arise due to periods of high volume, high turnover, unexpected absences, or resource needs elsewhere.
Gathers feedback and reports on employee experience, and makes recommendations to increase employee satisfaction, improve retention, and provide opportunities for development.
Works closely with department leadership to ensure written departmental procedures are current, up to date and accurate and makes recommendations for changes as necessary.
Assists in ensuring that the Bank is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations

Assists the department with the achieving and renewing FPC and/or CPP Certifications

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:
College degree preferred. Majors in business, finance or accounting helpful
2+ years of Evolution experience
Attainment of CPP certification highly encouraged; FPC required
High level of proficiency with Excel, emphasis on ability to create formulas for data manipulation
Attention to detail, emphasis on accuracy
Strong multitasking skills including the ability to remain highly accurate with the data while completing multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work with little supervision
Experience with Affordable Care Act regulations preferred
Strong math skills required
Microsoft Word and Outlook proficiency
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written required
Proven group facilitation skills
Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
General office environment.
