Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP is seeking a dynamic colleague to join our expanding Collections team in our headquarters office located in Woodbury, Long Island.
The candidate will provide collection guidance and activities to ensure monies owed to the firm are received in a timely manner while maintaining positive relationships with the firm’s internal and external clients.
This person will maintain contact with attorneys, staff and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Candidates with business to business collections experience is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5+ years of experience in a professional services environment.
Prior law firm experience a plus.
High level of customer service; ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate to build successful relationships with all levels of personnel at the firm, including Partners.
Strong business judgement, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with a keen sense of accuracy.
Ability to handle high volume of tasks and prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to understand, adhere to, enforce and apply department policies and procedures.
Proficiency in MS Office. Intermediate Excel proficiency a plus.

As Collection Coordinators, we are responsible for developing, implementing, and administering department-wide collection programs. We manage the development, installation, and administration of a revenue accounting and tracking system. Supervising collections unit staff and collecting information pertaining to the industry is one of our main responsibilities. We research and evaluate the collections needs of departmental divisions and recommend tracking procedures for securing the information needed to achieve collection goals. Working as Collection Coordinators, we establish and maintain effective working relationships with state and federal personnel.
