The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and talented candidate to join our Firm as the Human Resources and Operations Manager for our Orange County office located in Costa Mesa, CA, partnering with office leadership to influence employee engagement and office culture. The Human Resources and Operations Manager will lead the Human Resources and Operations functions for the Orange County office, and will work with the National Human Resources team to ensure firmwide consistency on policies and practices.  Our hybrid workplace (50% in-office expectation) helps us build and maintain our strong culture.

Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Supervise the Human Resources and Operations functions, including supervision of all non-revenue producing personnel in the Orange County office, reporting directly to the Office Managing Director for Orange County

Human Resources Responsibilities

    • Partner with office leadership to make hiring, employee development, exit, and succession planning decisions to support our growth objectives
    • Advise and coach managers on matters related to employee relations, performance management, employee engagement and firm values
    • Act as an advisor to employees by providing counsel, coaching, gathering feedback and resolving employee relations issues successfully
    • Manage the onboarding and new hire lifecycle
    • Coach team members through our performance management process
    • Conduct separation interviews, analyze results, and share with leadership
    • Lead or participate in firm-wide HR projects and initiatives
    • Communicate with employees regarding our benefits programs
    • Maintain current knowledge of federal and state labor laws
    • Oversee the administration of employee files, paperwork, and documentation

Operations Responsibilities

    • Responsible for overseeing the facilities, asset management (billing responsibilities) and administration functions (Executive Assistants)
    • Coordinate with National and Office Site Facilities for leasing and infrastructure changes when necessary
    • Work with Office Managing Director to conduct long and short-term space planning and financial planning and analysis
    • Closely manage office expenditures, ensuring we are making the best use of the Firm’s resources, and regularly reporting to the Office Managing Director
    • Plan and coordinate off-sites: assist as necessary for external events (networking or internal meetings) 
    • Coordinate and communicate long-range planning for annual events

Recruitment Responsibilities

    • Supervise the Recruiting Senior Associate, providing support as needed, to execute on the following:
    • Partner with office leadership and the National Recruiting team to oversee the recruitment strategy for the offices
    • Ensure we have an effective recruitment strategy at local college campuses, and we are developing a talented pipeline of candidates
    • Manage experienced recruitment for Practice and Practice Management Group open positions

Staffing Responsibilities

    • Supervise the Staffing function (the process of facilitating the scheduling of employees on job assignments)
    • Ensure weekly assignments are updated in staffing software
    • Ensure we have adequate reporting to aide management in making scheduling decisions
    • Make recommendations and resolve conflicts regarding scheduling staff on assignments
Compensation and Benefits

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Orange County, the expected salary range for this role is $110,800 to $161,500; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications. Benefits: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire. We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. The Requirements

 Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Human resources certification – SHRM or HRCI (SPHR/PHR)
  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Professional services firm experience a plus
  • Excellent process and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, and listening
  • Analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills; responds to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel)
