The Opportunity:

We re looking for a Human Resources Intern to help us shape the future of education. As HR Intern, you will report to the Senior HR Consultant and will have exposure to and be supporting the broader HR department. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the HR team with the management of employee personnel documents including organizing and filing
  • Supporting the HR Business Partner team with a variety of administrative activities and programs including:
    • Helping track follow-ups & check-ins with new hires
    • Onboarding new hires in our HRIS systems and i-9 verifications
    • Ensuring completion of term-related paperwork
    • Assisting with tracking and compliance with corporate-wide HR programs
    • Assisting with payroll administration as needed
  • Providing support with administering Blackboard s onboarding activities including new hire Day One orientations
  • Assisting the Benefits team with sending out benefits materials to new hires in remote locations and satellite offices
  • Assisting with benefits and employment compliance procedures

The Candidate:

  • Is pursuing a bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a business-related field and has an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Has strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Has solid written and oral communication skills
  • Is detail-oriented and can multi-task
  • Has the proven ability to modify and adjust individual approach and delivery to fit specific situations
  • Has a business understanding, or ability and willingness to learn quickly
  • Can work independently on occasion, exercise discretion, and work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
  • Is willing to ask questions when faced with uncertainty

About the HR Intern role

HR Management HR Intern

As HR Interns, we are responsible for updating employee records with new hire information, screening resumes, and scheduling and confirming interviews. In addition, we gather payroll data, such as leaves, working hours, and bank accounts. Moreover, we post, update, and remove job ads from boards, career pages and other relevant environments. We also prepare human resource-related reports, such as training budgets. Ultimately, we assist in organizing and coordinating the organization’s HR policies and procedures.

Core tasks:

  • maintaining the database up to date with relevant information such as contact details and employment forms
  • addressing employee queries related to benefits and other relevant aspects
  • reviewing and distributing company policies in digital or hard copy formats
