Summary The Flight Ops Instructor Ground (FOI-G) is the initial instructor position in AmeriJet International Airlines Flight Operations Training Department. Becoming a FOI-G is the proven path to becoming an Amerijet International First Officer, Flight Instructor, Captain and leader.
Essential duties and responsibilities Include the following, but not limited to:
- Primary ground instructor for pilot initial new hire basic indoctrination training in the classroom environment
- Provide support, facilitation, and instruction for ground training courses for pilots
- Facilitate courses including general subjects, pilot indoctrination, performance, and aircraft systems, in both a classroom setting and utilizing flight training devices such as a Flight Training Device (FTD)
- Develops and maintains lesson plans, instructor guides, and curriculum for classroom, home based, and computer based training
- Administrates computer based training to ensure the training is adequate for the type training for which they are used
- Perform administrative duties to include but not limited to: 1) Developing, administering and grading exams; 2) Producing accurate and complete rosters and training records
- Coordinate with other company trainers on standardized information.
- Professional development and other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications - College Degree
- Boeing 757 & 767 knowledge and experience or type rating preferred
- ETOPS and International operations experience preferred
- Experience in curriculum design for adult learning preferred
Required Knowledge- Must have the appropriate knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to instruct crewmembers or aircraft dispatchers in curriculum segments other than flight training.
Required experience- At least one (1) year experience as an Instructor (CFI, Ground, Simulator, Evaluator or Examiner) in an accredited university flight training program or an approved part 121 or 135 training program.

- Knowledge of the contents of FAR Parts 61, 91, and 121
Physical activities and requirements of this position- Physically and mentally demanding work environment with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Knowledge and use of computers for weather briefs, email correspondence, and other information is important.
- During a typical shift, you may rotate between teaching ground or conducting flight sessions when qualified as a Flight instructor.
- Ability to work shifts as scheduled as well as additional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
Travel Must be able and willing to travel to domestic; sometimes requiring overnight stay’s for up to four weeks at a time.
