The Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst II is responsible and accountable for a wide variety of functions within the HIM Department. These functions for the HIM Analyst II include greeting customers to the department and referring them to the appropriate personnel using AIDET and Service Etiquette Standards; assigning chart deficiencies to Emergency Department accounts; gathering and submitting birth certificate information; performing basic transcription support; assembling documentation; performing various scanning functions for record retention and researching medical records as needed. The specific functions assigned depend on complexity of the facility and its staffing needs .

* High School or GED equivalent
* One to two years of related industry experience
I have 3 years of experience working with EHR systems, including data entry, analysis, and troubleshooting.
We, HIM analysts, use different health information management softwares to think of strategies to improve the healthcare organization's workflow. Collecting and reviewing data is a part of what we do in order to establish incredible business practices. We are in charge of testing out different workflow applications and observing their impact on the organization. Our job includes using excellent written skills to create reports regarding business practices to present them in front of the upper management. Also, we are responsible for gathering information from different sources such as health records and cost reports to think of strategies.
