Clinical Lab Assistant

What you'll do:
  • Receive and process physician orders for blood tests, facilitating timely specimen collection and processing, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Maintain equipment and automation in specimen processing, performing routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on received specimens to ensure patient safety and accurate test results, maintaining compliance with established protocols.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to add-on requests, researching and locating samples as needed, and delivering them for testing.
  • Employ automation or manual processes to prepare, centrifuge, and aliquot laboratory specimens accurately, maintaining specimen integrity and identification.


Qualifications

What you'll bring:
  • You must be a High School graduate or equivalent
  • A minimum of one-year full-time equivalent laboratory clinical support and phlebotomy experience is required.
  • You communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team, ensuring clear and accurate information exchange.
  • You have a proactive approach in identifying and solving problems, contributing to smooth operations in specimen processing.
  • You pay close attention to details, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.
