Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • This position involves responsibility for training (curriculum development the formal presentations) on all Hubbell Lighting products with an emphasis on wired and wireless lighting controls and their integration into a complete lighting solution.
  • Manage and maintain Hubbell Lighting s control displays and equipment to ensure proper operation throughout the Lighting Solutions Center.
  • Stay abreast of the nation s energy codes and control standards understanding how Hubbell Lighting s controls products are applied allowing customer maintain code compliance.
  • Work with Hubbell Lighting s controls team staying abreast of all product development, lighting control trends, and sales/specification tools.
  • Additional areas of training responsibility include:
    • commercial and architectural indoor lighting
    • commercial and architect outdoor lighting
    • industrial lighting
  • Develop and present accredited courses for continuing education
  • Lead learning sessions focused upon both the technical aspects and effective application of lighting, lighting products and lighting techniques.
  • Work closely with Hubbell Lighting s sales and product teams to understand our focused vertical markets and applications
  • Lead facility tours
  • Researches and remains updated in lighting and lighting industry trends
  • Develop e-learning modules for Hubbell Lighting's on-line learning management system
  • Attend and represent Hubbell Lighting at industry events, conference, and trade shows (10-20% domestic travel)

Periodically host guests after normal work hours for dinner and entertainment events

Skills and Experience

  • BS degree and 8+years lighting related experience preferred
  • Lighting Certification (LC) from NCQLP a plus
  • Sales and/or product marketing experience in lighting and/or lighting controls
  • Ability to articulate a product's features, advantages, and benefits during a customer presentation
  • Candidate must have polished verbal and non-verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate technical material in a large classroom environment
  • Candidate must have the ability to create and delivery presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint as well as operate audio/video equipment to support training activities
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. periodically during product presentations
  • Ability to teach in a classroom and product showroom environment up to 8 hours / day with a flexible work schedule periodically eating lunch and/or dinner with guests

Education

Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering General
