We're looking for a dedicated, hard-working Houseperson who will be responsible for assisting room attendants and responding to guest calls.

Must have excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

Job Description: To provide the most professional service available to the guest through good, prompt, and courteous service.  This person will work as a member of the housekeeping team, and in conjunction with the supervisors and section housekeepers, maintaining a high standard of cleaning in the guest sleeping room area of the hotel, and in public areas of that section of the hotel assigned.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Moves and arranges furniture.
  • Turns and flips mattresses.
  • Polishes metalwork.
  • Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.
  • Stocks room attendant carts and linen closets with room supplies.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, bathrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, linen closets, storage areas, and other work areas.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
  • Washes walls, ceiling and woodwork.
  • Washes windows, door panels, mirrors and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets, room attendant trash, and empties and cleans ash urns.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Delivers ironing boards, baby cribs, rollaway beds, and other guest requests to guest rooms.
  • Cleans and removes debris from loading dock and break areas.
  • Stores supplies as received.
  • Assists in supply and linen inventories.
  • All other duties requested by management.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

    Education and/or Experience: Less than high school diploma.  No experience required. 

    Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills:  Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisor and fellow employees.

    Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Employee must be able to lift/push/pull 100 pounds.  Job frequently requires walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, and standing.  This person will also need to be able to reach, grab, pull, and grasping.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Hours:  Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime.  Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.

    About the Houseperson role

    Entertainment Attendants Houseperson

    In the role of Houseperson, her primary responsibility is to provide hospitality services at the workplaces. We are accountable for maintaining the cleanliness of the houses that we have been appointed for. We clean the rooms and maintain a peaceful environment. We clean the entire floors of the houses by using vacuum cleaners and mopping them. Functioning as Housepersons, we are accountable for sanitizing the restrooms to ensure the provision of a germs free environment to the guests. We fulfil the needs of guests by providing them with their required facilities and solving out their queries.

    Core tasks:

    • fulfilling the guest’s requirements and needs
    • cleaning the floors and walls of the rooms
    • replacing the damaged items with the new ones
    • reporting the maintenance to the senior supervisors
