Order Selector - Boxman (multiple shifts)

We are currently seeking a Order Selector - Boxman to join our Logistics team as a crucial link in the food supply chain.

The Order Selector - Boxman is responsible for supporting all product handling activities. Order Selectors assigned to Boxman duties take lead responsibility for a defined cooler area. The position is responsible for order fulfillment, product handling, loading, unloading, proper product storage, lot rotation, and maintenance/cleanliness of work areas. The Order Selector - Boxman will perform all other projects or duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE JOB

This is a full-time position. The pay for this job starts at $16/hour.

The following schedule available:Monday - Friday, 6am - 2pm

• Accurately pick produce orders from tickets and bills of lading.
• Responsible for proper placement of products in assigned cooler.
• Responsible for proper lot rotation and accurate daily counts.
• Loads and unloads product at John Vena, Inc.
• Operates forklift and/or pallet jack to accomplish product storage or picking and delivery of orders for customers.
• Maintains products and packages in an orderly manner.
• Removes all debris, pallet wrap, straps, trash, broken pallets, and packages from assigned coolers.
• Reports poor quality or poor condition product to buyers immediately.
• Responsible for order picking and delivery to customers. Assists other Selectors as required.
• Instructs next shift workers on put away procedures in assigned coolers.
• Responsible for facilities and equipment maintenance including monitoring performance of refrigeration equipment in assigned coolers. Reports identified problems to Shift Supervisor or Logistic Manager.
• Assists Shift Supervisor or Logistics Manager in all business-related activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to read and write English
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a team
• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong basic math skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
• Understanding of proper perishable product handling
• Knowledge of the operation of warehouse equipment and machines
• Basic knowledge of warehouse procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) to three (3) years warehouse or produce business experience required
