Job Description

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to joining our Building Analytics Group, working alongside our team of passionate energy and sustainability professionals. As a Senior Energy Engineer, you will be responsible for leading project teams that design and implement sustainable and resilient solutions for our clients. Our team is growing, and this role will have the opportunity to help develop our business practices and mentor junior staff.

Your duties will entail working closely with building owners, architects, and other key stakeholders to provide support for sustainable design solutions on new construction projects. Additionally, you will take a leading role is delivering building optimization and strategic planning services focused on decarbonization and resiliency. This role requires a high level of collaboration with multi-disciplinary project teams, and to excel in this position, you must possess a deep understanding of the latest industry trends and best practices, coupled with a strong passion for sustainability in the built environment. You will have the opportunity to showcase your technical expertise in designing and implementing sustainable and resilient solutions, while also providing guidance to project teams and clients.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage energy projects, taking a leading role in generating project leads, preparing proposals, and managing project teams
  • Provide oversight and QAQC for whole building energy models utilizing various energy modeling software
  • Analyze building performance data and lead energy assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimize building performance
  • Perform energy calculations to quantify energy and cost saving opportunities for clients
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into all aspects of the design process
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest sustainability trends and technologies, building codes, standards, and energy regulations
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • 5-10 years of experience in the field of energy engineering
  • 5+ years of project management and business development
  • Working knowledge of energy modeling software (IES-VE, eQuest, CBECC-Com, EnergyPlus)
  • Degree in Engineering, Building Science, or related field.
  • Deep understanding of architectural and MEP system design and operations
