Shift: Hourly, Days, Every other weekend
Reporting to the Gift Shop Manager, performs general duties associated with store operation; monitors incoming inventory; coordinates volunteer staff during employee absences; maintains store appearance.
1. Inspects incoming inventory; communicates with vendors regarding damaged merchandise.
2. Assists in creating effective, attractive merchandise displays.
3. Maintains cleanliness of gift shop.
4. Reviews invoices before sending to accountant for payment; files invoices and mails checks upon receipt from accountant.
5. Coordinates unpacking and marking of incoming merchandise.
6. Orders merchandise as directed by the Manager or Coordinator, i.e. Russell Stover candy, gift boxes, etc.
7. Coordinates volunteer staff during employee absences.
8. Counts magazine monthly for return to supplier.
9. Works additional hours as needed in emergency situations.
10. Performs additional duties in the absence of Manager or Coordinator; deposits bank funds; coordinates staffing requirements based on the workload.
11. Complies with all department and hospital safety policies including annual safety training and all mandatory inservice education programs.
12. Models organizational customer service standards.
13. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
1. The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school, or the equivalent.
2. Two years of prior experience in a retail environment.
3. The interpersonal skills necessary to interact with customers, volunteers and hospital staff.
4. The organizational skills necessary to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. The mathematical skills necessary to review invoices for accuracy.
6. The creativity to assist with the effective and attractive display of merchandise.
