Job Description Per Diem On-Call

Assists in performing a variety of registration, insurance verification, scheduling and billing duties in support of inpatient and outpatient access to medical services.

Job Responsibility

  • Assists in performing pre-registration and registration duties; Obtains necessary demographic and insurance information and enters data into computer system; Obtains appropriate signatures on medical, legal and financial forms;

  • Aids in verification of patient insurance coverage and other related data with third party carriers for scheduled appointments/procedures; Aids in obtaining patient's insurance authorization required for services; Documents authorization approvals and denials in computer systems; Collects money due from patient at time of service; may preform billing, receivable and related functions. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 0-1 years of relevant experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $34,820-$51,950/year

About the Patient Access Associate role

Administrative - Other Patient Access Associate

As Patient Access Associates, we are responsible for greeting patients, collecting information, and preparing patient admission and discharge documentation. We collet patients’ medical history, process billing, and payments, and inquire about insurance details. Recording insurance information and obtaining pre-approval for treatments is one of our daily responsibilities. We relay information between patients and staff members and provide them with updates as required. Working as Patient Access Associates, we keep paper and electronic medical records and provide information to insurance companies to assist with billing. We assist patients during checkout and ensure they have post-treatment instructions.
