Overview:

The Graphics Designer creates visual concepts using computer software. Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials such as sketches, photos and actual parts.  Illustrates concepts by designing rough diagrams for print or online technical documentation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Meets with customers, Project Managers and Systems Engineers to understand the objectives and requirements of the job.
  • Estimates the time required to complete the work.
  • Works with a variety of media including Computer Aided Design (Auto CAD) and Micrographics Designer and keeps up with emerging technology.
  • Develops the overall layout and design for schematics used in construction of buildings. 
  • Proofs designs to ensure accurate, high quality work.
  • Presents finalized ideas to Project Managers.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.   Associates Degree in graphics design and 1-2 years of relevant vocational training preferred.  Specialized skill training/certification may be required.
  • Generally 2+ years of successful experience in technical or specialty area with demonstrated competence in principal duties.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD.
  • Good relationship building skills; ability to interpret customer requirements.
  • Must be able to think creatively to produce designs that will meet project specifications.
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills needed.
  • 5% travel may be required
  • Ability to adapt to shifting demands and competing priorities from customers and internal partners to consistently manage time effectively and meet established deadlines.

Must be eligible to work in the U. S, without the need for current or future sponsorship.
