Responsibilities

Join our Information Technology team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customers needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will provide operational or technical support in the development, analysis, and maintenance of systems, software, processes, products and/or equipment. You will generally follow established/documented approaches to issues & problems.

This position is in IT department supporting the financial functions related to our Billing to Cash (B2C) area supporting project coordination, implementation, and execution of initiatives relating to paper payment processing and bill printing. The position may be called upon to advise and solve issues arising within hardware as well as software platforms such as SQL. The position requires working alone as well as in group settings, with leadership roles sometime being required. The position requires strong troubleshooting abilities within emergency situations on a hardware and software level. The role will support communication servers and file transmission.

The position responsibilities require design, development, and support of applications/systems to ensure timely and accurate customer payment posting and bank deposits. Also, the position requires strong reverse engineering skills to understand existing processes for upgrade into new and better systems. The position requires good writing and oral communication skills to communicate, document, negotiate and research application and project needs whether it be with customers, vendors, peers or executives. The position provides desktop support for designed processes as well as for assumed projects and technical queries regarding any issue that may arise that effect Verizon employees and their functions.

Provide technical support for software applications to resolve issues and complete operational tasks to ensure system functionality and stability. Complete necessary application customization with bolt-ons, custom code, or processes to support required business functionality.
Facilitate relationships with banking institutions, internal billing systems, payment vendors and 3rd party Remittance groups as well as facilitating networking and file transmissions.
Collaborate with Wireline, Wireless and Business billing systems to ensure customer payment files are received and posted and that all bank ACH and ICL files are deposited daily
Provide mechanization support for process reviews and modification and development of new software applications. Provide enhancement support for developed applications.
Provide requested documentation and training for developed software listed above.
Provide application support to review client existing functions to deliver newer solutions which enhance client processes and functions. Look for opportunites to make impactful changes while providing insight into forecasted cost/benefit scenarios.
Provide reverse engineering on systems to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems, especially where original documentation is non-existent
Perform SQL DBA responsibilities for multiple applications
Provide application solutions that integrate database design and file transmission protocols
Provide networking support including trouble-shooting issues, IP address resolutions, network card malfunctions. Network route root causes.
Perform duties as required and where required which could require travel and after hours support

Qualifications

Must have:

Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
Two or more years or relevant experience.
Ability to provide on-call, 24x7 support as needed.

Ideally you ll also have:

Bachelor s degree.
Two or more years of experience working with SQL Server, C# and. NET.
Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
Data Structure knowledge on relational databases.
Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams.
Communication & stakeholder management skills.
Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
Experience with Windows Administration and SQL Server Administration.
Secure FTP (SFTP), SSH, and MFT file transfer protocols.
