Pashto Language Analyst / Translator

• This role will provide both linguistic and analytical ability for the translation of written and transliterated text.
• The focus of this position is to provide translations of colloquial Pashto, rather than more professional documentation or technical jargon.
• Analyst must provide precise and accurate translations in the context of a provided sentence.
• This is not an interpreter position focused on summary analysis.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma (native country equivalence)
• Must be fluent in writing, reading and speaking native-level Pashto language.
• Experience using both formal and informal varieties of Pashto.
• Must be fluent in writing, reading and speaking English to translate Pashto language documents into precise idiomatic English.
• Ability to prepare written and electronically typed documents using correct punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
• Basic computer proficiency

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor s Degree or some college preferred.
• Familiarity with mobile communication shorthand (acronyms, slang, etc.) and variations in formal and informal language styles.
