Momence Packing is a harvest facility and manufacturer that exclusively produces sausage products for Johnsonville Sausage. Johnsonville Sausage is the No. 1 national brand of brats, Italian sausage, smoked-cooked links and fresh breakfast sausage links. Position Overview:

This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual to leverage their product costing expertise and leadership skills as a Senior Plant Cost Accountant for the Finance team, specifically serving the Momence facility.

The successful candidate will join a team committed to manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement and member development. This position plays a key leadership role at the facility by providing impartial financial analysis and guidance, decision support and development of financial acumen across the entire facility team.

Responsibilities:

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with team members to create and continuously improve management reporting and performance metrics. Assist members in understanding how they can affect financial results.

  • Provide financial analysis and business insight to drive key performance metrics

  • Be an integral member of facility leadership teams setting strategic direction, identifying key financial opportunities, and leading key improvement initiatives

  • Lead the forecasting and annual budgeting process for your facilities. Ensure that facility processes are streamlined and align with overall company processes.

  • Assist the Planning and Analytics team in developing meaningful and reliable product cost estimates for new products.

  • Prepare financial analysis and recommendations for proposed capital expenditures including return on investment (IRR). Assist in capital project closing and post mortem analysis.

  • Drive the development of procedures and controls that ensure meaningful and reliable product costs and accurate inventories.

  • Coach production reporters, timekeepers, inventory control (coaching responsibilities may vary by location).

  • Understand all plant business processes and the impact on cost reporting. Involved in all accounting decisions related to Plant transactions

  • Participate on various project teams

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience in an ERP environment;CMA a plus but not required

  • Experience in food or CPG a plus but not required

  • Experience working with and/or developing meaningful operational reporting and guiding operations members on interpreting and using financial reporting

  • Desire and ability to be a thought leader and change agent in the context of a team environment

  • Strong computer skills required (Intermediate Excel, Word, Powerpoint); SAP experience would be a plus

  • Strong communication skills, ability to present financial information in a meaningful understandable way

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new skills

  • Ability to adapt to and embrace changing work environments
