We’re actively seeking a Software Development Intern to join the Technology team in the Summer of 2023! 

Are you ready to sharpen your skills, gain practical experience with modern data technologies, and write your story of delivering a high impact solution within a rapidly moving technology team? Join the AMA Technology team at the intersection of marketing, technology, and data for an unrivaled internship experience. You’ll benefit from mentorship and teamwork with a talented group of professionals with diverse backgrounds, experience, and skills. You’ll enjoy a dynamic and positive work environment with a commitment to collaborating with joy and gratitude.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other developers on the AMA team to build new, full-stack functionality for an internal dashboard/portal created with React and a serverless Node.js backend.

The AMA Summer 2023 Cohort will commence on Monday, June 5th, 2023 and conclude on Friday, July 28th, 2023. 

This paid internship will be a completely remote opportunity for the duration of the eight-week program.

Please note that candidates must be located where the AMA has a current employer identification number: Alabama, District of Columbia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington State, or Wisconsin.

Software Development Core Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team on an Internal Dashboard to administer our API infrastructure
  • Build out full-stack functionality to manage orders, products, and user data
  • Improve error handling and reporting to assist with troubleshooting

What You Have

  • Some computer science coursework or completed bootcamp
  • Some experience with Node.js
  • A desire to practice what you’ve learned in a real-world environment

What You May Also Have

  • Working understanding of HTML/CSS helpful but not required
  • Ability to decipher queries of moderate complexity and compose queries of basic complexity using at least one flavor of SQL or noSQL

About the Software Development Intern role

As Software Development Interns, we are responsible for coding and debugging software applications and experiment design elements. We review other engineer’s code, test software applications, and implement changes and updates when required. We work under the supervision of an experienced software engineer and implement a reporting interface to automate the generation of metrics and reports. We work to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality across manufacturing and mobility applications. Working as Software Development Interns, we make valuable contributions to dynamic and agile projects. We work closely with the development team on the design and development of various applications.
