Our Business

The Chase Wealth Management (CWM) Advisors have their own securities based lending product with over $5 billion in extended credit. It is part of the Securities Based Lending Team (SBL) Credit Middle Office. The primary focus is on supporting the client need for lines of credit based on the quality and diversification of their asset portfolio. The group combines a focus on credit worthiness along with evaluation of collateral holdings as part of the underwriting process.

Job Description

The SBL Associate Lender s primary objective is to underwrite all securities based lines of credit and ultimately recommend an approval or decline. Additionally they will provide senior guidance and leadership to Lenders and Analysts. Core responsibilities include:

  • Provide the highest level of service to our internal partners and ultimately the Client while adhering to credit quality standards and ensure that the loan portfolio meets or exceeds approved credit quality targets.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of awareness around any potential credit issues and to resolve exceptions as soon as possible. These exceptions include effectively managing collateral shortfalls, annual facility reviews, past due principal/interest and documentation exceptions.
  • Partner with Global and Domestic SBL leadership to provide appropriate oversight of credit and operational risk.
  • Performing a comprehensive review of a client s credit bureau and financial background.
  • Analyzing a client s collateral accounts for concentrations, risk factors and overall quality in order to generate a lending valuation.
  • Reviewing lines of credit on an annual basis for renewal or modification as required.
  • Preparing Loan Documentation packages and as necessary creating and editing manual documentation for bespoke deals.
  • Oversight of credit portfolio including partnering with the Front Office during periods of market sensitivity or collateral shortfalls.
  • Reviewing documentation for consistency with federal and local regulations.

      Bachelor degree required. A concentration in Finance, Economics or a related field preferred.
      Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of private banking/asset management, and credit/lending experience.
      Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      Expert organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision in a high production and fast-paced environment.
      Proven ability to effectively communicate with senior managers and sales personnel.
      Strong understanding of financial markets and securities industry is strongly preferred.
      Knowledge of JPMC software applications and a broad knowledge of bank products and services. Experience using the Wholesale JPM Credit Risk Infrastructure tools and applications preferred.
      Solution oriented problem solving skills.
      Possess strong skills in Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook and PowerPoint.
