Sensitive Personal Information (New under CPRA)N/AN/AN/AN/A

Categories of Third Parties with Whom We Share or Sell Personal Information

Employers and Recruiters: This is the core function of a job board. Personal information (such as your resume, application materials, and profile information) is shared with employers and recruiters who use the platform to find and evaluate candidates.

Service Providers: These are third-party vendors who perform services on behalf of the job board. This category includes a wide range of partners, such as:

  • Cloud storage and hosting providers.
  • Analytics and data processing companies.
  • Payment processors.
  • Customer support and communication platforms.
  • Email and SMS providers.

Advertising and Marketing Partners: Data may be shared with or sold to these partners to display relevant advertisements, both on and off the job board's website. This sharing is often for "cross-context behavioral advertising," and the data may include online identifiers, internet activity, and geolocation data.

Affiliates and Corporate Family: Data may be shared with other companies within the same corporate group for a variety of purposes, such as to offer a wider range of products and services or for internal business operations.

Legal and Government Entities: Information is shared with government agencies, law enforcement, and other legal entities when required by law or to comply with court orders, subpoenas, or other legal processes.

Third-Party Integration Partners: Job boards often partner with other services, such as career coaches, resume writing services, or professional networking sites. When you choose to use these integrated services, your information may be shared with these partners.

Buyers in a Merger or Acquisition: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of the business transaction.

Directed Data Sharing for Service Provision through a Third-Party Integration:

  • Directed Sharing: The user is explicitly opting in and directing the job board to share their data. This is not a passive data collection or a transfer that happens without the user's direct consent. Under the CPRA, a business must clearly inform the consumer and obtain their consent for such data transfers.
  • Service Provision: The primary purpose of this data transfer is to provide a service that the user has requested—the creation of a new account on a partner site. The data is not being shared for marketing or to build a profile for cross-context behavioral advertising on behalf of the original job board.
  • Third-Party Integration: This is a clear example of a business partnership where two platforms are integrated to offer a seamless service to their shared users. The partner job board is a "third party" receiving the data to fulfill the user's request.
