Job Description:
Looking for reliable, customer service focused and detail oriented people to join our facilities team. Will perform custodial work at assigned buildings, events and facilities hosted by the Athletics Department to ensure a safe and clean environment for students, staff and guests.
This is a great side job. Flexible in setting a schedule that works for you---daytime, evenings, or weekends.
Pay rate: $15.63/hour.
These casual hourly positions are limited to working up to 780 hours for ISU each fiscal year and are not eligible for benefits.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities, includes but not limited to
• Performs cleaning of floor areas such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, picking up trash on ground
• Checks and restocks paper products and soap in restrooms
• Wipes down surfaces and cleans up spills
• Collects and empties trash cans
• General event upkeep and cleaning services during and after events to restore building
• May clean and disinfect restrooms, locker rooms, and/or dressing rooms
• Some positions will work outdoor in stadium and suites.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, communicate effectively and professionally with others, and carry out work independently.
• Ability to move objects in preparation for cleaning; to load and unload trash receptacles; to use arm muscles in hand cleaning, mopping, and scrubbing for protracted periods of time; ability to climb stairs; ability to bend; ability to stand and efficiently move around building; may occasionally work on ladders.
• Some positions may work in outside weather conditions (football game days, stadium prep).

I prioritize my tasks by assessing the urgency and importance of each task and creating a schedule to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
As Custodians, we perform routine and general custodial duties such as vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, dusting, mopping, and restocking paper and soap supplies when required. We also work with technicians to perform routine maintenance of custodial equipment and supplies. We empty every trash can and dispose of it into compactors and dumpsters while sorting through it to separate non-recyclable materials from the lot. We use adequate pesticides to keep the building free from indoor pests during the weekends to ensure that no one will be exposed to those chemicals.
