Overview:
Under the general direction of the UC D&C G&G Operations DSC Team Lead, the Pore pressure Surveillance Specialist provides support of the Real Time (RT) monitoring of Deepwater and Complex well operations from within the DSC (Drilling Support Center). This is a 14 on 14 off work day schedule position that requires a strong knowledge of pore pressure prediction and surveillance best practices and techniques and the ability to help influence real time decisions by providing timely updates and direction to the BU operational teams. The position requires good communication and interpersonal relationship skills to work across functional, cultural, and corporate boundaries. The candidate will assist wellsite geologists with pore pressure interpretation and "Landmark Predict - ConnectML" software support. The candidate will participate in predrill briefings with G&G staff to identify predrill hazards, well designs, and LWD tool selection, maintain 24/7 pore pressure interpretation in the DSC (model versus actual) for up to 5 simultaneous rig operation and work with DSC D&C to answer G&G Ops questions and provide feedback when unanticipated conditions arise.
