Description

Position Summary:

Works under the direction of the Senior Director of Human Resources in providing support to the Human Resources Department in all facets of the duties herein.

What You Will Do:

  • Performs a variety of general office support duties: copying, scanning and faxing of documents, distribution of correspondence and packages received in the human resource department.

  • Assists with each step of the Payroll process including the preparation of payroll deduction import, tenure bonus payments (bi-weekly), GL distribution files, and HSA contributions to the appropriate financial institution.

  • Assists with inquiries from department heads and employees regarding paychecks, deductions, accruals and related matters. Prepares adjustments and manual checks when necessary. Performs calculations for retro payments and enters the lump sum amounts for payment on their regular payroll checks in conjunction with the Pay for Performance Program.

  • Ensures Termination paperwork is received in a timely manner and processed accordingly.

  • Prepares termination or other special checks according to established procedures.

  • Administers the Helping Hands Program and Beacon of Light Program.

  • Functions as the point of contact for the Discount Guide. Updates list as needed and ensures posting on the intranet page. Contacts vendors at least every two years to ensure discount is still being offered.

  • Research, compile and analyze data for special employment projects and reports.

  • Coordinates special mailings as needed.

  • Participates in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attends required training.

  • Available on special projects as needed.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

  • Works overtime as required and performs other duties as assigned by management.

What You Will Need:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent.

  • One-two years’ experience in Human Resources preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.

  • Must have technical and/or PC skills sufficient to have working knowledge of multiple software programs, i.e. Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, UltiPro etc.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize work assignments.

  • Ability to maintain orderly files, records and reports.

  • Calm, flexible and able to handle a fast pace and extended hours.

  • Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
