Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center has exciting opportunities forBoard Certified/Board Eligible MD/DO physicians to join well-established, quality driven, outpatient Family Medicine and Internal Medicine practices in the Greater Bangor, Maine area.

Our skilled office staff and providers work as an integrated care team to provide our patients with a full spectrum of family care. We are a participant in the Maine Quality Counts, Home Health Initiative offering proactive care management services to patients with chronic illnesses, and behavioral health and care manager support on-site.

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center offers exceptional family medicine practice opportunities in modern facilities with a cutting edge EMR. A supportive, collegial atmosphere, and minimal call which is strictly outpatient characterize our work environment. We offer excellent compensation and benefits, including two weeks CME and six weeks' vacation.

Physician opportunities require an MD/DO or foreign equivalent, three year Family Medicine Residency, Maine physician licensure (or immediately eligible for same), and board certification/eligibility. Candidates in need of J-1 visa waivers welcome to apply.

About the Family Medicine Physician role

Physicians & Surgeons Family Medicine Physician

As Family Medicine Physicians, we provide a comprehensive medical service for family members based on their individual medical records. We review our patients’ data and maintain an accurate record for allergies, medical problems, medications, and immunization status. We are also responsible for prescribing and administering a variety of treatments such as medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury as well as performing emergency therapy sessions. We perform, order, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports such as blood pressure/PH, glycemia, and hemoglobin levels and diagnose patients' condition.

Core tasks:

  • monitor the patients’ condition and their response to treatments
  • explain procedures and discuss test results with our patients
