As an American Express Platinum/Boutique Travel Consultant, you never know what your day is going to entail. It could be a cruise, tour, honeymoon, or a reunion to name a few. Here’s just some of what you will be doing each day from your home office.
Using your exceptional consulting skills & industry knowledge to design unique travel & lifestyle experiences by expertly booking cruises, tours, hotels, flights, and transportation arrangements anywhere in the world
Providing reassurance and creating rapport by listening to needs from the initial inquiry to the welcome home greeting
A flair for building long-lasting relationships through exceptional listening and communication
Networking with our destination and supplier partners which will enable you to provide extraordinary, perfectly implemented, experiences
Communicate new and existing product offerings and value propositions relevant to the Card Member
Always put the Card Member’s experience at the forefront of everything you do, reinforcing the Membership First ™ approach and earning their dedication
Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of cruise and/or tour experience
Proficient understanding of world geography and emerging travel destinations
Resilience and composure to remain positive under pressure and in changing circumstances
Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
Basic geography knowledge with ability to locate continents and travel destinations worldwide
Positive attitude and outlook, demonstrated through desire to learn, willingness to ‘have-a-go’ and optimistic teammate
Natural communicator with the ability to demonstrate listening skills and able to adapt conversation to suit the situation
Technically able and used to using computer applications and personal devices, can navigate PC and basic MS Office easily
Ability to thrive in a results-driven environment, with a healthy strive to meet and exceed goals
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Hours of Operation (7 days/week):
Monday–Sunday; 8:00am–11:00pm ET
Hours of operation are subject to change due to business need
Work at Home Requirements:
Through our Bring Your Own Internet (BYOI) Program, you will be required to locate a phone and internet service provider who meets our connectivity requirements and arrange connections in advance of your class start date.
American Express will provide BYOI participants a monthly allowance to help offset costs of phone and internet services. In addition, you would receive an additional one-time allowance to offset installation fees.
Current minimum speed requirements are 25 mbps download x 5 mbps upload speeds, preferably through broadband cable or fiber optic services (WiFi, Satellite, or DSL is not permitted).
Dedicated analog landline phone (no VOIP) is required. Phone modem (vs. a wall jack) preferred where available.
Additional Requirements:
A secure home office, located at your confirmed address of residence, free from background noise or other distractions
Candidates must reside in one of 49 states where we currently hire (all U.S. states, except for Alaska). If you live within 35 miles of one of our TLS Service Centers (Phoenix, AZ or Sunrise, FL), you may be required to work in the Service Center.

As travel consultants, we help our clients about feasible travel options. We consider their needs, requirements, capabilities and budget to make trips memorable for them. We are responsible for successful management of sales activity and overall customer experience for our highly engaged client base. Managing a high volume of interactions, we support customers in purchasing one of the most reliable packages, helping them to create an incredible travel experiences. We also help them devise vacation experiences by offering itinerary suggestions on appealing destinations, tour packages, day trips, excursions, events, transportation, and accommodations based on individual and group needs.
