In this exciting role as a Supplier Quality Engineer I, you will have responsibility for covering a specific supplier commodity quality level and improving the quality system. The Surgical Innovation Business is one of the fastest growing businesses and helps patients all over the globe. This role report to the local Supplier Quality manager in Boulder, CO. The individual in the role will have the ability to work with multiple Medtronic teams across the United States.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.

  • Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness.

  • Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur.

  • Communicates with External and Internal stakeholders to overcome quality issues with components.

  • Manages and Executes Corrective Action plans with suppliers to address systemic quality issues.

  • Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met.

  • Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation.

  • Collaborates with Component Engineers to develop and deliver the Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products.

  • Define Receiving Inspection requirements as required and associated test method validation for all internal Medtronic Test Methods.

  • Assist in supporting quality management system updates and modifications to continuously improve Medtronic’s quality management system.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 0+ years of experience required

Nice to Have

  • Root Cause Analysis Experience

  • Microsoft Suite knowledge (Excel, Word Powerpoint, Vizio, etc)

  • Process Validation

  • CAPA/SCAPA

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
