Technical Support Lead
Reports to: Director of IT Infrastructure
This position is located in our Auburn Hills, MI corporate office

Position Description

The Technical Support Team Lead is a hands-on role involving the effective management of IT staff resources in a technical support role. The ideal candidate is an experienced individual that works with clients to provide guidance and support of end user computing needs. This position requires a client-focused, technical person that has a thorough understanding of Microsoft technologies and has the ability to isolate, analyze and resolve technical issues. Tracks progress of projects and provide feedback to Senior Management.

Job Responsibilities & Required Experience

  • Supervise and manage team members including work allocation, training and problem resolution; evaluate performance and take appropriate personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity
  • Support for our fleet of corporate and field office computers and multi-function printers
  • Act as the highest point of escalation within the team and coach junior team members. Work with Server and Network teams on critical issues
  • Deployment and configuration of software and system images
  • Microsoft operating system support for Windows 7, 8, and 10. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Troubleshooting of basic connectivity and networking problems
  • Threat prevention along with virus, spyware and malware removal
  • Inventory new hardware purchases and add to asset tracking system
  • Creation, monitoring, and resolution of client tickets based on priority
  • Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues and progress toward goals
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of system design, operation and procedure manuals
  • Management of user accounts and computers in Active Directory
  • On-premise Exchange and Office365 account administration
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage or emergency response as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Qualifications - Education & Experience

Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of work experience supporting Microsoft Windows Clients
  • At least 1 year of work experience leading a technical support team or similar leadership role
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft tools such as Active Directory and SCCM
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Strong, concise documentation skills
  • Video Editing
Physical Requirements
  • Lift, carry or move bulky equipment, fixtures and supplies, up to 50 lbs. (occasional)
  • Repetitive motions requiring use of wrists, hands and fingers (frequent)
  • Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information (frequent)
  • Able to work for extended periods of time (frequent)
  • Desk work (frequent)
Preferred Licenses / Certifications
  • A+, Security+, Network+
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
